The minor in Latin American studies provides an opportunity for students to undertake a multidisciplinary study of the history, geography, economics, politics, and culture of Latin America and the Caribbean. It consists of a total of fifteen hours, three of which may count toward the student“s major. Candidates for the minor are required to take Latin American Studies 210, Introduction to Latin American Studies. In addition, candidates take twelve hours of coursework on Latin America. No more than six of these twelve hours may be in a single discipline.
